No one said owning a house would be this complicated...

Home ownership is great and all but.....it sure is a lot of work!!

We had the gutters on the entire house replaced to help make sure our home was protected form water. They look great and we are pleased. We though for sure our house would be issue free for at least another 6 months.

Wrong.....John and I were forced to replace the hot water heater in our home. Thank goodness John caught the signs there was an issue with the heater in the attic or who knows what we might have had to deal with. We survived a few days with out the luxury of hot or even luke warm water. We went with a tank less water heater in the end to save on space and peace of mind with it being in the attic after all. After that was completed, we were sure we were on our way to no issues for at least another 6 months.

Wrong.....John came home to notice there was a wet patch of carpet in our front entry way. He had some people come out to inspect only to find a slab leak related to the hot water pipe in the area. Again we were without hot water. John was kind and helpful in turning on and off the hot water heater when we needed the water source. It is all fixed now. We thought for sure we were on our way to at least 6 months with no issues related to the house.

Wrong.....Now we get to select new tile and install the said new tile in the front entry way. To add to this task, we have discovered the existing tile is basically cemented in due to the age of the house. Apparently when the house was built it was common practice to use mortar and chicken wire in install tile vs the "quick set" method of today. When we remove these, we will have to raise the floor level about 2 inches to be even with the rest of the floors. Anyone want to come help?

No, really in reality it hasn't been too bad. Just a few minor setbacks. We are sure on our way to at least 6 months free of home repair, right??
