Looking Back at August 11, 2010

One year ago, John and I got the best news ever!  We found out that we were blessed enough to be expecting a baby!!!  We couldn't imagine being any luckier!!  Neither of us can believe that just one year ago we were hearing this news.  I can still remember telling John the great news and the look on his face.  I don't think that smile left for weeks after.  That time is something we will never forget for the rest of our lives. 

The nine months following that news were so special too.  Even though there was a lot of sickness (the whole nine months) during this time, we wouldn't have changed a thing!  We counted down the days until we could see "Baby Gibson" again at the doctor office.  The ultrasound pictures were (and still are) cherished for sure.  They were something tangible that this was really going to happen.  I remember looking at those pictures trying to imagine how "that" was inside of me.  Such a miracle!

We thought we were on top of things with getting baby items too.  Then the last two months or so, it was a mad dash to get things done.  What fun that was!!!  John did the nursery with love and care.  He did such a great job being a handy man with paint, chair rails and so many other "put this together:" projects.  Again, looking back, we wouldn't have done anything differently. 

Today, we get to be the father and mother of Elizabeth Anne.  How wonderful is that?
