John and I traveled (with Charlie) from College Station to Midland, TX for Christmas. We were able to spend a lot of quality time with Denise and Brian. The food was great and plentiful and we enjoyed one another's company for sure. The weather was cold and it actually snowed. Who would have guessed there would be snow in Midland? Not me, I almost didn't bring a jacket for the trip. It was really nice to spend some down time with the two of them and so we could all connect back with one another after such a hectic year.
From Midland, we traveled to El Paso, TX. We spend the rest of the holiday break with Kathy, Don, Tyler and Ryan. We ate some great Mexican food while there, I think I can hang on till the next time we are in town to satisfy my cravings, saw some old friends, and had a nice time with family. We made it to a college basketball game (UTEP) while in town. It also snowed in El Paso. I am starting to think John and I brought the snow with us. Tyler and Ryan brought Reed so Charlie had a playmate while we were there. I think they just wore one another out and that was our goal for sure. Poor Reed just wanted to rest but Charlie doesn't come with an 'off' switch and she just wanted to keep going.

We drove from El Paso back to College Station in one day. What a day it was too!! It was nice to see a new path back but so long of a trip. In reality it wasn't more than an hour or two difference but it sure seemed longer!!
Overall, John and I had a great holiday season. John was able to be off work for a nice break and had plenty of time to re-energize for 2010. Hope you all had a great holiday as well!!
